The Madrid "Real" club with Zinedine Zidane at the helm will begin their journey towards the UEFA Champions League title on Wednesday.
The "Whites" are in the same group as Dortmund's "Borussia", Lisbon's "Sporting" and "Legia". The first match will take place at the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium, against the "Sporting" team playing without the injured Luka Spalvis.
"Real" triumphed in the UEFA Champions League last season, but Z. Zidane does not believe they are favorites to defend the title.
"I wouldn't say we are favorites," answered Z. Zidane. "There are so many teams that can win this title. We have to compete with everyone and try to win every match. We are prepared and focused on the first game, against the strong "Sporting" team."
"You win the Champions League when you put in a lot of work. The players know the goals of the match and always want to win. We know that we have a tough road ahead. To be honest, starting the tournament will be even harder than last season.
"When you start the match at your stadium and you are a champion, you feel little pressure. I think every player who plays against "Sporting" on Wednesday will give their all," the coach concluded.
Z. Zidane announced the list of players registered for tomorrow's match after the press conference. Isco, Marco Asensio, Nacho, and Mariano did not make the squad by the coach's decision, while Keylor Navas and Fabio Coentrao will miss the game due to injuries.
