Z. Zidane: "There are no easy matches in La Liga"

The head coach of Madrid's "Real" team, Zinedine Zidane, believes that the Spanish "La Liga" championship is the most competitive in the whole planet.

This season in the "La Liga" championship, there is no clear favorite - newcomers "Granada", as well as Madrid's "Real", "Sevilla", and "Barcelona" clubs have already spent some time in the league's leadership position.

In recent matches, all three main title contenders lost points - "Barca" suffered their third defeat this season, while both Madrid clubs failed to win against the Sevilla teams.

After the match with Seville's "Real Betis", in which Madrid's "Real" failed to score a goal, Z. Zidane was asked whether these unexpected results are related to the fact that the leaders have weakened or if other teams are simply getting stronger.

"I think both statements are correct," said Z. Zidane. "It's true that the top teams in the table have lost a lot of points, but it doesn't surprise me - 'La Liga' is the best league in the world, so there are no easy matches here."

"It becomes increasingly evident every season. Any team can cause trouble and that is why I call this league the best in the world. Winning these championships is not easy, so triumph at the end of the season is very 'sweet'," said the coach.

When asked about the VAR controversy in the match against "Real Betis" when a penalty was not awarded to the opponents despite their defender handling the ball in the penalty area, Z. Zidane did not engage too much in these discussions: "I saw the handball, but everyone interprets it differently. The referee decided not to review the episode with the VAR system, made his decision, and we have to respect it."

Until Sunday's match between Madrid's "Real" and "Barcelona" clubs, who have played one game less, both have 22 points and are at the top of the league table.

(0-0) VAR's hand on the leadership.

The VAR was decisive in a draw that felt like very little although it served to equalize at the top. A great first half was not enough, in the second half, they lacked energy, and Zizou did not react. A very clear handball was key in the draw, incomprehensible.
