The Madrid "Real" team is close to ending their appearance in the UEFA Champions League for the second year in a row already in the quarter-finals.
On Wednesday night, the team from the Spanish capital suffered a 1-2 defeat in front of their fans against "Manchester City." "Real" collapsed at the end of the match, when the "cityzens" managed to score two goals in an 8-minute span and sent Sergio Ramos off the field.
After the disappointment of the match, Zinedine Zidane did not hide his frustration, unable to understand why the team lost concentration when they needed it the most.
"We played a good game for 75 minutes," said the coach. "We are angry about how it ended. The only good news is that this is just the first part of the match (played in two legs - ed.)."
"There were definitely some positive things, but they are not visible on the scoreboard. We played our football for about 70 minutes. We will go to Manchester with the aim to win and advance to the next stage.
"At the end of the match, we were not focused enough and we paid a high price for it," Z. Zidane said.
The second leg match between "Man City" and "Real" will take place on March 17. The Madrid team will need to score at least two goals at the "Etihad" stadium.
