On Wednesday, in the first semifinal match of the LFF Cup, VMFD "Žalgiris" will once again try to beat Marijampolė's "Sūduva" on their home field.
The first match between these teams this season took place on April 1. In the "General Financing A Lyga" championship match, the Žalgiris team left no hope for the visitors from Marijampolė, defeating them with a score of 4:0. In this encounter, Mantas Kuklys scored two goals for Žalgiris, while the team's foreign legion players Calum Elliot and Tomislav Pekas each added one goal.
The head coach of the Vilnius Football Club "Žalgiris", Damiras Petravičius, does not expect another easy victory.
"In the last 'General Financing A Lyga' match, we lost to Panevėžys "Ekranas". I don't like losing, but the first failure experienced over the weekend should help us focus better on the LFF Cup semifinals. Now we have no choice but to return to the path of victory. We know how good a team 'Sūduva' is, so we don't expect them to easily hand us a victory for the second time," praised the opponents the coach of Žalgiris.
The strategist wants to see his players performing well from the very first seconds of the match. "The positive result easily achieved two weeks ago remains in the players' memories. If we let thoughts of the past victory overwhelm us, Wednesday's match can turn against us. We must play as well as we can from the very first seconds of the match. If we do this successfully throughout all the matches, we will give the fans gathered in the stadium another victory," believes D. Petravičius.
The first semifinal match between VMFD "Žalgiris" and Marijampolė's "Sūduva" will take place in Vilnius, at the LFF Stadium (Liepkalnio g. 13).
The match will start at 7 pm. Please note that the ticket price at the stadium before the match will be 12 litas, at all other "Tiketa" box offices and when purchasing online at www.tiketa.lt – 10 litas. In addition, there will be no discounts on tickets purchased on the day of the match.

On Tuesday, in the other LFF Cup semifinal match, Vilnius' "Reo" football players lost 0:2 to Panevėžys "Ekranas" at home. The goals were scored by Andrius Velička (65 min.) and Vytautas Lukša (90+2 min.) for the visitors.
