Vilnius "Žalgiris" coach Marekas Zubas only admitted after the lost UEFA Champions League qualifying match that today the stronger team was Zagreb's "Dinamo".
"Congratulations to "Dinamo" on their victory. Today they were the better team. We cannot play like "Dinamo", the potential of the teams is different at the moment," said M. Zubas after the match. "We came here with the intention of showing interesting football at least in certain moments, but when you defend for the full 90 minutes, you are not an interesting team. Our main goal was to defend the goal, our penalty area and wait for our counterattacks, set pieces, corners. Today there was too little of that."
Nevertheless, the "Žalgiris" coach promises that the game in Vilnius during the return match on July 22nd will be different.
"It will be harder to play on the artificial turf and against "Dinamo"," the coach said. "We wanted to show a better game attacking in Zagreb, but we couldn't. A couple of players played below their level, so we weren't effective enough."
