Žalgiris defeated the Šiauliai team away

The 32nd round of the "TOPsport A League" began in the City of the Sun, where Vilnius "Žalgiris" took another step towards the title, defeating FA "Šiauliai" with a score of 3:1 (1:0).

In the first half, Liviu Antalis tried to shoot from distance once, Paulius Golubickas failed to capitalize on a dangerous situation with a teammate's pass, and in another episode, he struck the ball against the goalpost. After a little more than half an hour, the Šiauliai quickly implemented a play, but Arpadas Tordai defended against Davys Ikauniek's shot.

The Vilnius team gained the lead in the 40th minute - Martynas Dapkus fouled in his own penalty area, and L. Antalis, standing at the 11-meter mark, did not miss. Soon after, Jorisas Moutachy executed a great shot from the air, and Lukas Paukštė showcased his skills.

In the 48th minute, the score doubled when Giedrius Matulevičius scored following a pass from Paulius Golubickas. In the 57th minute, Deividas Dovydaitis was close to scoring, but A. Tordai played confidently. Just over an hour into the game, the representatives from the City of the Sun organized a goal-scoring attack, with D. Ikauniekas scoring accurately after a pass from Donatas Kazlauskas.

The Žalgiris team took a firm step towards victory in the 72nd minute when L. Antalis scored his second goal following yet another P. Golubicko pass. The score could have changed again, but Romualdas Jansono's shot rattled the goalpost.

After completing the matches of the 32nd round of the "TOPsport A League", the Vilnius team confidently leads the championship with 70 points, while the defeated Šiauliai team ranks 5th in the league table with 36 points.
