In the Lithuanian "A lyga" championship, Vilnius "Žalgiris", currently occupying the eighth place, has registered two newcomers - forward Martynas Karalius and defender Ilja Jagodnikas, according to the information provided by the club's president Janušas Loputis on the official "A lyga" website.
Defender Ilja Jagodnikas arrived from Pskov and played for the Tallinn "Levadia" (Estonia) team this season, scoring 4 goals in 14 matches. 25-year-old M. Karalius wore the jersey of Klaipėda "Atlantas" last year and previously played for the FBK "Kaunas" team. It was thought that the player would move to one of the clubs in Greece, but now he has ended up in Lithuania.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old forward Aleksandras Osipovičius, who has represented the capital's team since the beginning of the season, continues his journey. The legionnaire from Belarus moved to the Radomo "Radomiak" club in the second league in Poland.
In the 2005 Lithuanian "A lyga" championship, A. Osipovičius scored two goals. "A. Osipovičius's contract with our club has not ended. We loaned him to the 'Radomiak' team," - denied the reports of the player's contract being over by the president of "Žalgiris", Janušas Loputis.
Interestingly, just before the start of the season, A. Osipovičius violated discipline - he was sent back to Belarus for two days, but returned only after a week. The leaders of "Žalgiris" had decided to release the striker from the team, but changed their minds and transferred him to the reserve team - "Polonija", and later the Belarusian returned to "Žalgiris".
A similar story occurred with another Belarusian defender Andrejus Šilo, who was recently reportedly dismissed for disciplinary reasons, but returned to the team after just a few weeks and continues to play for "Žalgiris" now coached by V. Sukristovas in the "A lyga" league.
