Žalgiris Returns to the Top of the A League

Vilnius' "Žalgiris" did not take long to return to the top of the "TOPsport A League" standings. In the postponed 25th match, the Žalgiris team defeated the "TransINVEST" team from Vilnius district 2:0 (1:0).

The start of the match for the vice-champions unfolded flawlessly. In the 2nd minute, Paulius Golubickas handled the ball well in the penalty area and sent it into the net.

The guests threatened with a shot from Misaki Sato, which was skillfully dealt with by Arpadas Tordai. On the other side of the field, Stefan Čupić had some work to do; at one point the ball hit the post, and in another moment, Ričardas Šveikauskas defended exceptionally well in a challenging situation.

In the second half, "Žalgiris" strengthened their advantage. In the 58th minute, after Joris Moutachy's assist from the right flank, Adama Fofana scored.

With 53 points, the Vilnius team is back in first place, while the Vilnius district team remains in eighth place with 23 points.
