Marius Žaliūkas is delighted that soon he will be wearing the shirt of "Leeds United", a club competing in the second league of England.
The Lithuanian national team defender was also tempted by another team of this championship, London's "Queens Park Rangers", but Žaliūkas is inclined to choose "Leeds", where he will have more opportunities to perform on the field.
"Representing 'Leeds' in friendly matches was not easy, because I don't know the guys yet and I can't communicate freely. But I'm looking forward to fitting in, because this is a great place, team, and league. An interesting challenge awaits me," said Žaliūkas.
Žaliūkas added that English football suits him: "This style personally suits me best. I've been looking for a new club for a few months, so it would be nice to finally finish everything."
"Leeds" has already received the documents allowing them to sign a contract with Žaliūkas. It is expected that this will be done within the next 24 hours, so coach Brian McDermott is already looking forward to his future player.
"Watching his game, we clearly saw that he is an experienced player, so there shouldn't be any problems. Of course, he hasn't played for a while, but in the Lithuanian national team's game against Bosnia and Herzegovina, he successfully stopped Edin Dzeko. I really have no doubts, but I still want to consult with other coaches and with Marius himself."
