The historic headbutt by Zinedine Zidane on Marco Materazzi's stomach is now immortalized not only in videos and in the memories of football fans.

In Paris, near the modern art museum "Pompidou", a 5-meter bronze statue depicting the episode where the furious Frenchman knocks down the Italian has been erected.

The scandalous episode took place in the 2006 World Cup final. According to Zidane, Materazzi insulted his family members, which is why the footballer lost his temper and was subsequently sent off the field.

The mentioned final match was won by the Italians after a penalty shootout.
