On Monday, Zinedine Zidane, who became the head coach of Madrid's "Real" team, made his debut in the Spanish "Primera" match against La Coruna's "Deportivo" on Saturday. Zizou's first pancake didn't turn out well - the "Whites" overwhelmed the guests with a score of 5-0.
The recent view from the field was not the most impressive, but the team's desire to win and score goals at the start of the season was probably not that hungry.
Keylor Navas (8) - Judging only by the result, it seemed that the Costa Rican national team goalkeeper didn't have much work in this match, but "Deportivo" had a total of 18 shots in 90 minutes, although only four were on target. K. Navas played reliably and confidently, but most importantly, he managed to keep a clean sheet.
Dani Carvajal (9) - A fantastic performance after returning from injury to the starting lineup. D. Carvajal brought stability to both the defensive and offensive sides of the field. The Spaniard was active on both sides of the field and in the 22nd minute he made a great assist to the Welsh player.
Pepe (7.5) - Portuguese player, who gained Rafael Benitez's trust, had to convince Zizou with his game. Pepe did what he does best on the field - breaking down dangerous opponent attacks. It was not entirely possible to trust the Portuguese in every episode, but the club veteran played solid matches and helped the team finish the match without conceding a goal.
Sergio Ramos (7) - The team captain played only in the first half. Feeling discomfort, S. Ramos could not continue playing and was replaced by a French player. The Spaniard was not very reliable in defense, but he made a significant contribution to the first goal - making an assist.
Marcelo (8.5) - Another excellent performance by the Brazilian. Marcelo collaborated well on the left side with both Isco and James Rodriguez after the substitution. In defense, the club's vice-captain didn't have much work, so he was often seen on the opponent's side of the field, where Marcelo "drowned" the "Deportivo" players and posed a threat to the goalkeeper.
Luka Modric (8) - Safe work in this match was especially important. The Croatian's contribution in the center was huge - he effectively stopped opponent attacks and directed the team's play in attack.
Toni Kroos (9) - After struggling in previous matches this season, the German was unstoppable from the start. For T. Kroos, this was one of the most successful matches this season. The World Cup champion, together with L. Modric, formed a great defensive duo, but was more successful in creating attacks. T. Kroos not only made an assist, but also successfully distributed passes to his teammates one after another.
Isco (6.5) - Finally returning to the starting lineup, Isco did not seem to be in his best form. The Spaniard played until the 66th minute, but the midfielder failed to demonstrate successful gameplay. Several times, the midfielder slipped in a level position and lost the ball. The player probably lacked time to return to his old form, but it's only a matter of time before he does.
Cristiano Ronaldo (8) - The best player of 2014 was certainly not bad in this match. From him, you could see what you don't always see - a lot of running in all attacking positions. C. Ronaldo took numerous shots, but none hit the target. On the other hand, the Portuguese player had two assists in his statistics. For any other player, such statistics would be great, but not for him. This was probably evident from Cristiano's face - he failed to do what he does best - score goals.
Karim Benzema (8.5) - The Frenchman scored twice, and for a striker, that's certainly not bad. K. Benzema did not demonstrate his usual game, making mistakes in some episodes and not being very active. However, Karim managed to fulfill his main task, and most importantly, the Frenchman played the full 90 minutes.
Gareth Bale (10) - The highest rating, without a doubt. Bale is becoming increasingly difficult to stop this season. The world's most expensive player scored three goals in his debut Zizou match and was the most prominent "White" player. G. Bale managed not only to actively participate in creating attacks and scoring goals but also in defense. Gareth performed the main tasks assigned to him by the new coach - to participate in defense and find space in creating attacks.
Substitutes who entered the field:
Raphael Varane (7) - Noticed by the same Zizou talented French defender spent 45 minutes on the field and played confidently. In the second half, the "Real" defenders didn't have much work, but Raphael dealt with his main tasks.
James Rodriguez and Jese - it is difficult to evaluate these players, as they spent just over 20 minutes on the field. Both were very active, but if one had to choose from this duo, it would be the Colombian who showed a more solid game than Isco during 66 minutes.
