Zutautas: Lichtenstein - a team of similar skill as ours, not intending to resign © EuroFootball.com

The coach of the Lithuanian national team, Raimondas Žutautas, after the draw with Liechtenstein, assured that he has no intention of resigning from his duties. The specialist also noted that representatives of a country with 35 thousand inhabitants are currently playing football at a similar level of skill as the Lithuanians.

"We played poorly, but we had to win. Unfortunately, there is the word 'but'... We could have scored in the last minutes, but nothing can be done," said Žutautas.

"The pace of the game was not bad, but we made a lot of mistakes. The players tried to achieve a result until the end. Playing with a man down, we created even more opportunities than with full strength. Unfortunately, we simply did not take advantage of the chances," he added.

However, Žutautas hoped that at least in the 2014 World Cup qualifying cycle, where they will have to face Liechtenstein again, things will go better: "Liechtenstein is a tough team, their goal is often closed to us. We often stumble against so-called underdogs. I hope that in the next cycle we will score against this team."

After two unsuccessful matches with Liechtenstein, the coach also stated that he is not prepared for any changes in his work: "It would be easiest for me to resign, but a good captain does not leave the ship in such times. We do not have a large selection of football players, but we need to continue working, looking. Today, the best players are playing. We do not have gems who can make accurate, sharp passes, create opportunities. We have to wait, maybe such players will appear in the future.

I want to thank the fans who gathered in large numbers, because right now the basketball championship is taking place and everyone is talking only about this sport. I also want to thank the football players for coming, fighting for Lithuania. If we fail to win, it means that the skill level of the teams is similar."
