"Real" coach Zinedine Zidane did not dare to say whether referee Michael Oliver made a mistake by awarding a penalty kick to Turin's "Juventus" team.
This became a decisive episode in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal series - the Spaniards triumphed with a total score of 4:3 and advanced to the semifinals.
"I was told it was a penalty kick. I didn't see it myself. The referee blew the whistle and we can't change that, but I think it was a penalty," - said the "Real" coach after the match.
"Cristiano is made for these situations and he doesn't feel pressure. The Portuguese scored accurately and we won.
There is nothing more to talk about. We will play in the semifinals and we are happy," - reassured the French coach.
Zinedine Zidane, who ended his professional career in 2006 with a red card, regretted Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who protested vehemently against the referee's decision and was sent off the field.
"What happened at the end of the match will certainly not erase the merits of the Italian. He is an incredible footballer, and maybe we will see Gianluigi playing in the Champions League again," Zidane added.
